PLUS Quilting Group Gives Gift of Warmth

July 15, 2010

The PLUS Company Community Quilting Group was proud to present several hand-made quilts to Bridges in Nashua.  Bridges is a non-profit agency dedicated to helping victims and survivors of domestic and sexual violence.  According to Pamela Auer, Development Director for Bridges,  ”We will be using the quilts at the shelter to keep moms and their children cozy and warm. Some of them will be available here for women who gain their independence and are setting up their own homes for the first time.”

The Community Quilting Group has been meeting twice a week for over five years.  The group make quilts for themselves and area service organizations. Under the leadership of PLUS Company quilting instructor Ramona Burgess, the group started with only four or five members and has steadily increased (along with their skills) to over twenty-five members.  Though many members may only be able to complete a small part of a quilt, everyone can contribute something to this group project.  The PLUS Company would like to thank the members of this group for their dedication to their community.
