10th Annual Silent Auction and Dinner Dance a Success
The PLUS Company thanks its many sponsors, contributors, and attendees from the Nashua area for making this year’s 10th Annual Silent Auction and Dinner Dance a terrific success. Through the local community’s generosity at this fundraiser, nearly $50,000 was raised to support The PLUS Company Adult Education Programs. The funds from this event will help to continue to deliver high quality, community-based programs to adults with developmental disabilities. Our programs in art, music, fitness and sports, health, computers, and literacy make a positive impact in the lives of the individuals we serve.
USI New England, The Golf Management Company, Gate City Electric, K.J. Packaging, Marvell Plate & Glass, Ride-Away Handicap Equipment Corporation, and Zoe Marketing were instrumental sponsors for this event. These companies made significant financial contributions and partnered with us to ensure that the event was successful. Thirty additional local businesses and private citizens donated items and services to be put up for bid. Over 200 people attended and bid on a wide variety of auction items, as well as enjoyed dancing to the popular dance band “Hush”.
The money raised at this year’s auction helps us meet our annual $350,000 fundraising goal. Thanks again to all who sponsored, donated, attended, and worked at this event. We recognize and appreciate the strong, community-based team that helps us deliver such a successful event each year. We look forward to your continued support and partnership.
PLUS Company Launches New Business Venture
SCORE, a volunteer agency providing counseling to small businesses, has
assisted The PLUS Company in developing a note card business using art
designs created by its consumers. These uniquely designed cards were
created by people who participate in the Happenings Art Program at the
PLUS Company. The Happenings Art Program provides the opportunity for
self- expression through a creative process. Students at all levels of
ability can participate and experience the joy of creating extraordinary
works of art. All money earned through the sale of the cards is cycled
back into the program for future art classes.
Cards are sold for $5 per box and each box contains six different cards.
To purchase cards and support these local artists, please contact Leni
Hodgins at (603)821-7407.
