Former Boston Bruin Rick Middleton toured the Nashua building and chatted with clients and staff. It was hard to tell who was more excited with staff mugging it up and clients sharing their impressive knowledge of hockey. After the tour, Middleton joined several staff members along with PLUS Company supporter Terry Robinson for lunch at the Vesper Country Club in nearby Tyngsboro. Robinson has graciously offered to run the “Day of Dreams” golf tournament which will raise funds for The PLUS Company programs and facilities. Middleton, head of the Bruins Alumni Association, will be arranging for a number of Boston sports legends (from the Bruins and Red Sox) to join each golf foursome at the event.

Phase 2 of the “Portico Project” is now underway at The PLUS Company! The portico, which shields clients, staff, and visitors from the bad weather, was first started in the Fall of 2011. Phase 1 ensured that a basic structure was in place before the (expected) bad winter weather. Now, construction crews are working to improve the look of the portico, creating a more appealing front entryway to the building at 19 Chestnut Street, and will be completed in the next few weeks. The portico was identified as a priority of the Building Dreams: Creating the Reality Campaign, which seeks to update and improve the space currently occupied by The PLUS Company, and its construction is a direct result of the hard work of both the Board of Directors, and Don Gingras, President of Gate City Electric.

Everyone is Irish at The PLUS Company’s Annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration! Buy your tickets now for some good laughs and some good food, at this year’s Wild Irish Breakfast, scheduled for March 16th. Participating in this year’s breakfast will be Governor John Lynch, Mayor Donnalee Lozeau, Ovide Lamontagne, Jennifer Horn, Senator Maggie Hassan, and Bruins legend Rick Middleton. Of course, no Wild Irish Breakfast would be complete without the rousing performance from the NH Police Association Pipes and Drum Band. This annual tradition is
the largest fundraiser for The PLUS Company’s Adult Education programming, which allows individuals with disabilities to learn skills that will help them become more independent. In addition to a hearty breakfast and a whole lot of laughs, attendees will also have the
chance to win a trip for two to the Emerald Isle. If you are interested in purchasing tickets or sponsoring this event, please contact Leni Hodgins at lhodgins@pluscompany.org or call 603.889.0652.
